Microsoft Update Problems

Many users have Windows Updates set to Automatic and are finding that there are updates ready to be installed, when they install them they then get another round of updates ready to install. This is a problem with the Microsoft Updates and not the users machines.

I have turned OFF Automatic Updates as when I checked the update site the available updates ready for download were 0Kb in size and 0 minutes to download.

If users have this problem right click My Computer, select Properties then click the Automatic Updates tab and Turn OFF Automatic Updates.Then proceed to Windows Update and select 'Custom' then click the '+' beside each update. If it shows: Download size: 0 KB , 0 minutes then tick 'Don't show this update again'

For Zone Alarm users many have lost their internet connection.Microsoft rolled out an automatic update to all of their users. Unfortunately, this cut off Internet access for anyone on Windows XP or Windows 2000 using the ZoneAlarm firewall.
