Update November 2009: AVG V9 click here

I have had a number of enquiries asking how to set up scheduled scans on AVG antivirus.

It's very simple and straightforward to change from the default settings of scanning everyday, which is quite unnecessary.

As it monitors for inbound malware in realtime a weekly scan should be sufficient rather than a daily scan.

This video will show you how to set it up to a schedule that suits you so that you can choose a day and a time when the computer is not being used to perform its full scan.

It will also scan attached external drives and devices and can be set to shutdown when the scan has completed.

If you disable the Linkscanner, use the Web of Trust browser addon, it's small, uses no resources and offers greater protection.

It's also free and has now been downloaded over 3 million times.
