Advanced PC Tweaker is yet another program that promises to clean and optimize users computers as well as repairing faults, cleaning the registry, uninstalling programs and a heap more.

The main interface is quite patchy around the text and graphics which one would expect to be quite clear and not slightly blurred.

The left side also lists all of the programs abilities from Registry Repair through to 1-Click Tweak.

One hour later and it was still scanning the registry, having already found 3385 'problems' of which 3256 were in the Registry and it was still increasing when I aborted the scan.

I had seen enough to be convinced that this was yet another fake scanner gaining credibility by being listed on Google's Sponsored Listings and being sold through Clickbank.

As with many fake programs that promise to work wonders on your PC users can purchase this for $34.95 saving 50%, which is time limited and I am sure that when the 'time limited' offer runs out at midnight it will be extended again.

This is typical scareware, by scanning users computers and generating false results in a bid to get users to purchase the program which will cause more damage and possibly render the computer useless.

To be offered on many sites as a free download it gives the criminals greater credibility and users purchasing such programs are are greater risk of ID Theft and Fraud.

This program was run within a Sandbox on a PC with a 35GB Hard Drive with 8.57GB Used Space, CPU 2.00 Ghz and 1.5GB RAM.

The Registry had been checked for errors, CHKDSK run, Temp files removed, system rebooted then installed.

Simple advice is to keep well away from any program that promises to clean, repair and optimize your computer.

Many users fall victim to these scams and for the criminals behind them it is a very lucrative business, especially if they get users Credit Card details.
