Frequently, malware disables the Task Manager, so users cannot open it to end the processes created by rogue applications. There is a simple and free fix for this.

Download Task Manager Fix, double click to run and click ‘Fix Task Manager’. That should the restore the ability to open Task manager – please note that you may need to reboot into Safe Mode with Networking to do this.

In the case of AntiVirus Pro, users infected need to click on the Processes Tab and then click on Windows Antivirus Pro.exe and then click End Process, click Yes on the popup to terminate the process.

Also look for svchast.exeNOTE the spelling and do NOT confuse with svchost.exe – again click on it to highlight and click End Process.

Then download, install and update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Perform Quick Scan and remove all infections found
