Q-Dir is a free and easy to use piece of software which can be run from a hard drive or a USB stick. It allows users to easily manage files, folders and drives and the ability to view the properties of up to four files side-by-side for comparisons or to drag and drop between folders and drives.

The user interface opens as four panels, each with the same commands and the ability to browse for a specific file. At the top of the window there are small buttons that let you choose your view and each pane contains commands to run, delete, copy, and paste files.

Q-Dir makes your files and folders easy to manage, and for power users who need a more complete file manager solution this is a great addition.

As a multi-pane file manager for Windows it makes file management more convenient and more comfortable for users. Having several windows pointing to different locations on your hard drive makes it much easier to move or copy data from one folder to another or between drives and also makes browsing through them faster.

The standard Windows File Explorer is somewhat limited and to move applications between folders often requires having several folders open at the same time and Q-Dir supports different layouts with 2, 3 or 4 panes and each one of them can be configured separately.

File types can be shown in different colors, which is fully customizable. An easy way of using colors for exe files, music, photos etc. is built in.
