Many users are downloading this spyware and adware laden toolbar which compromises PC Security with its free emoticons, smileys for email, instant messengers etc. There are also free wallpapers, cursors AND a Search Assistant. These are used to track YOUR movements around the internet, whether browsing, emailing or using instant messengers.

This toolbar is installed either from desktopsmiley.com or myemoticons.com and makes hundreds of changes to your registry.

Once you install this Software, user information including your user profile and email contacts may be sent in communications with DoubleD Advertising Limited servers, and this information is used to access your regular account, content, services, features, and other personalized services and may also be used to match your user ID to personally identifiable information "in order to provide you with products, services, and software that you're entitled to and to provide you with relevant information".

Although there is an uninstaller in the Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel, it will leave many traces behind so I would suggest that you do NOT use the supplied uninstaller.

The most effective way to remove this piece of spyware is to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, which is free. Simply download and install and allow it to search for updates. The user interface will open and is preset to perform a Quick Scan, simply click Scan.
