Total Security is another of the scareware applications that comes in different varieties and compromises your PC Security.

It will find several Trojans, Dialers, Backdoors, Worms, Fake Applications etc. in a bid to scare users into purchasing the product.

Removal is fairly simple and straightforward. I would suggest that one application that users have open and minimized is Task Manager, it makes it much easier if users know what applications they have running and easy to stop a process.

In the case of Total Security it may install as 'tsc.exe' or a string of random numbers, as well as adding an iehelper module which will stop some removal programs from updating.

The easiest way to remove this parasite is to open Task Manager, click on 'tsc.exe' or random numbers and select End Process. Then look for a 'rundll.exe' and also End Process, this one stops Malwarebytes from updating so it is essential to stop it from running.

Then simply download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - click on Download free version - and install, the program will automatically check for updates before opening the user interface which is preset to perform a Quick Scan.

Simply click Scan and let it run, remove ALL infections found. After the scan users are prompted to reboot to finalise the removal process, simply click Yes.
