The Add / Remove applet in Windows is pretty inefficient really as it removes only the program that users want to uninstall, but it leaves behind files, folders and registry traces that users then need to remove manually.
Revo Uninstaller is far more efficient as it removes most of the junk that gets left behind and can also remove programs that have no installer.
This works on Windows OS from 2000 through to Vista and I have also run it on Windows 7 with no problems although it does not support 64bit machines.
Revo Uninstaller has a choice of views and a right click context menu which will give further information on the program.
Hunter Mode gives users the option to uninstall programs simply by dragging the program icon over the Hunter icon or selecting them with the cursor.
Junk Files Cleaner removes accumulated junk left behind after using various applications.
Windows Tools has a bundle of tools grouped together in one place for easy access.
Auto Run Manager allows users to enable or disable programs from running on Windows Startup.
Browsers Cleaner to remove browsing history and temporary internet files.
MS Office Cleaner which removes the most recently used files in MS Office from 2000 through to 2007.
Windows Cleaner which can easily remove other accumulated junk files created by opening different applications, start menu items etc.
Evidence Remover completely overwrites previously deleted items and does NOT affect any programs that are stored on the local machine.
Unrecoverable Delete is a secure deletion method which makes recovery impossible in most cases.
It's a superb little tool whether you install it on your desktop or laptop or use the portable version.
Supports Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and I have run it on Windows 7 without problems - 32Bit machines only
